Jessie Wagner has a new song that she calls her interpretation of the 1960s Burke’s song hit “Cry To Me”. She is using this release to keep her fans engaged until she drops her second solo album, which will be released on Wicked Cool Records either in late 2023 or early 2024.
The version she did with the young man’s doo wop-influenced style and with the classic song is what she is referring to.
“Dancing With Wolves”, the first time I saw Patrick Swayze to smoothly dance Jennifer Grey in his magically shaped arms to Solomon Burke’s “Cry To Me”, I was totally infected with this hip dance song. It’s still one of my all-time favorite pieces. I’m thrilled to offer my take on this fierce classic.
As a headliner and vocalist on tour, Jessie Wagner has performed at many venues with the same big names as Lenny Kravitz, Chic, Duran Duran, Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul. Furthermore, she serves as the group’s commanding vocalist for the NYC-based rock/soul group Army of the Underdog. The first solo album by her, titled ‘Shoes Droppin’, came out in 2020 and gained wide recognition.
