Lakeside X don’t ease their way back in with “Factory Flowers” — they come in with purpose. From the first few seconds, there’s a weight to the track that feels different from their earlier work. The beat hits harder, the textures feel rougher, and there’s a tension running underneath it all that keeps things interesting.
What I like most is how the band handles that heavier direction without losing their identity. The synth layers still carry melody, and the guitars add just enough edge without taking over. It never turns into noise for the sake of it. Everything feels placed with intention.
The vocals stand out in a quieter way. There’s restraint there, which works in the song’s favor. Instead of pushing too hard, the performance lets the atmosphere do part of the work and that makes the whole track feel more grounded.
Lyrically, it taps into that uneasy relationship with technology, but it doesn’t try to over-explain. It leaves space for interpretation, which suits the mood.
“Factory Flowers” feels like a shift — not drastic, but meaningful. It’s a strong return, and it sets the tone for whatever comes next.
